Bio

Dr. Shane Panter brings more than a decade of industry experience to the Computer Science Department at Boise State University. Before entering academia, he worked in manufacturing developing large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, and at Hewlett-Packard contributed to firmware development for enterprise LaserJet printers, optimizing energy efficiency across both kernel and user space. He now channels that real-world expertise into research at the intersection of empirical software engineering, cybersecurity, and software security, with a particular focus on software supply chain security.
